VeeDynamics Setup In Blender

VeeDynamics is supported on Windows 64-bit.

In order to setup VeeDynamics in Blender follow the steps for your OS included below.

Windows

Follow the steps:

  1. If you are upgrading from an older VeeDynamics version, go to Blender preferences and uninstall the previous version of the VeeDynamics add-on. After uninstalling, it is strongly recommended to restart Blender once, otherwise an error may occur when installing a new add-on version.

  2. Download the latest version of the VeeDynamics add-on for Blender from the the marketplace, where you purchased the engine. The addon file name starts with veedynamics-addon) and has zip extension.

  3. Install the add-on using the standard procedure for Blender add-ons.

  4. After installing the add-on, one needs to install add-on dependencies. First close the Blender window which you used in previous steps. Next type Blender XXX is the Windows search field (where XXX is the Blender version you are installing VeeDynamics for), right-click on the Blender entry which will be listed in the search result and click on Run as administrator:

  5. A new Blender window will be launch (running in the Admin mode). In the new window, go to Preferences → Addons → VeeDynamics, expand the VeeDynamics entry. Press the Install Dependencies button. Installation may take a moment (approximately one minute). After installation is done, close the Blender window running in the Admin mode - do not use it for standard work. You only need to install dependencies once for a given Blender version - once they are installed, use Blender in the usual manner (with no Admin rights).

  6. Download the VeeDynamics engine installer from the marketplace. The name of the installer follows a pattern: veedynamics-engine-{VERSION}-windows-x64.exe. Make sure you use the correct engine version – there must be a match between the add-on version and the engine version.

  7. After downloading, install the engine in the system (by running the installer exe file as you usually install applications in Windows). Note the installer is signed by the publisher: 3 Coords Computing Łukasz Czyż.

Accept the certificate if Windows ask you for it:

  8. During installation select the path where you want to install the engine. If you already have any other VeeDynamics engine installation present in your system (e.g. an older version), the installer will automatically remove it before installing the new engine.

  9. VS Redistributable is embedded in the engine installer. Allow VS Redistributable to be installed, if the engine installer ask you for it. The package is required for the engine to run.

  10. Run Blender (or restart if you had it opened). You can start using VeeDynamics features in Blender.
